Frankly, I can't recall much of the procedure, but when I awakened, I had an 8" cut from right below my breast bone to right above my other bone. Then a 6" traverse cut across my inquinal canal on my left side, and another 1" traverse cut on my right side, which I think was for use by a viewing tube during the resection procedure. Everything was secured by the use os staples. There were about 50 staples, total. They took out about 18" of large intestine. Yeeccchhh! Eric The(Gutless)Hun

Thank God for that! I needed all the prayers that I received for certain! And I thank everyone from the bottom of my very large, hopefully not-very-arteriosclerotic heart!

Luckily, I missed out on the inestimable pleasures of a colostomy bag! Five years ago, it would have been standard procedure, but apparently, physicians have figured that having ONE major sugery is better than having TWO major surgeries! I am one very blessed man, I can testify to that! Eric The(Edified)Hun
