I could use some wisdom from GD right now. I have been trying to sell a police trade-in S&W Model 10 .38 for a few weeks now on a local gun board. I have had several tire-kickers and lowballers. I get an offer from a guy willing to trade me an Aimpoint Comp M2 for the revolver plus a few other things. The revolver needs a firing pin which I cannot find anywhere. I stated in the ad plain and clearly it needs a firing pin and the guy still wants to do it. So my question is should I trade a Aimpoint Comp M2 for a Model 10 revolver? Is this a fair trade? I bought the gun for $340. Also I live in a military area is their anyway to know if the optic was stolen from a base?

Barring it being stolen, and you needing a red dot (or just want something to flip for cash), I'd do that since the revolver is INOP anyway.

Trade a working Comp M2 for a broken old revolver? Yes, and do it before he realizes what's going on.

Ask him for the serial number and check it with Aimpoint. Do this to make sure it's not a previously owned .mil optic that you cannot own.

Numrich has K frame firing pins and rivets, or complete hammers.
There are a couple dozen complete K frame  hammers on eBay right now.

Good advice. I am going to see if the guy is willing to give me the serial number.

I think I have a couple of used model 10 firing pins, but not the rivet.

I can stick one in an envelope gratis.

I handed the envelope to the Postman today.
