Less obstruction.

Down for uber tactical shooting.

Reasons being, won't block the line of sight -ie. don't have to look 'over' the scope covers.

Downside to it might be however, catching water/dirt.

Technically mine flip right as I have my Aimpoint mounted at the 3'clock position on my quadrail.
