Anybody here listen much to Alex Jones?
Some stuff seemingly has a bit of truth in it, for everything else I just wonder how he manages to connect the dots. Like a blind fold and a sheet of paper and he just starts going to town, takes off the blind fold and starts ranting on the radio.
Only nice thing about him is that he encourages people to find out information on their own, so in principle he's alright, otherwise he's a sensationalist..putting it VERY tamely. |
| I used to listen to him a lot. Then I realized he's full of shit. I started fact checking his stories. The real story was always way different from what he said, or didn't say. Example. He once said a woman on a plane spilled her bloody mary drink and was kicked off the plane and arrested for it. "Thats it! Big brother is here, you spill your drink you get arrested" Well I looked up the story and it seems the lady on the plane was cussing and yelling at other passangers and slapped her young daughter. He left all that out of the story. |

If he interviews Gerald Celente or Webster Tarpley, yes. BTW, he's like our canary in the mine shaft. If he is rounded up or silenced, the rest of us had better watch out. If that happens, wouldn't that just prove he was right all along? Sadly, yes. |
| What you guys should do is look for the youtube video of his y2k broadcast. It was war of the worlds all over again. "Reports of atms shutting down world wide" "Reports of russian migs entering u.s. airspace" "Chinese tanks seen on the california shores" etc etc The guy will read you tips he gets on live air without confirming the source or validity, and report them as a matter of fact. |

ironically, that should read "...an idiot." |

No, for the same reason I don't stand around ramming an iron pipe into my balls over and over again. I'm not sure that I've ever heard a better analysis of "why don't i listen to alex Jones". he spins up awfully fast over the smallest thing. and as for his coming up with a valid argument: "even a blind chicken finds corn every once in a while". |
Quoted:
He whips up very stupid, gullible people with paranoia. Why on fucking earth would I want to be part of that? It is sort of funny (in a sad way) to see the people he whips up go completely kook-kook over his "information"... I've met him a couple of times. He is a complete "It's All About Me - Media Whore" I really expect him next to find some "hidden religious truths - texts" and start a new crazy religion (like L. Ron Hubbard). |
The only time I really ever listen to Alex Jones is if I need a good laugh. Some of his stuff seems like the truth, but a lot of it is just conspiracy theory nonsense.
Like any other media personality, Alex Jones feeds on peoples fear hoping to make money from people feeling that he knows the answer to everything, etc. etc. etc. |
Quoted: Quoted: He's a 9/11 truther, right? Fuck him. This. It is very telling when people admit they are his fans. I have to agree, and I've listened to some of his shows and interviews, so I'm not just following along on the hate train. The guy whips up stupid people, yes. That in itself is enough I guess. But in my opinion he whips up stupid people by saying incredibly stupid shit. What is worse? Being a stupid person that gets whipped up with his paranoia? Or being a smart person that listens to his stupid bullshit? How can you tolerate it? I grew up listening to talk radio, and Art Bell was always a favorite, but Alex Jones isn't even in the same solar system. Art Bell entertained many notions to entertain us, and in the end that's all it was, entertainment. Alex Jones is pretty much insane along the lines of Algore. Profiting handsomely while laughing at you all the way to the bank, perhaps? |
Quoted: When I can't get my fill of "Crazy Uncle" shit from Micheal Savage, I'll turn on Alex Jones and it rarely takes more than 15 or 20 minutes before my patented Tin Foil Meter is pegged. Anytime I tried to listen to Savage, the guy was ranting about being banned from the UK. Even way, WAY after the fact. So I really don't know what he's about other than being banned from the UK. I did listen to Levin for a bit after the PASS IT RIGHT NOW jobs speech, he seems alright from what I've heard. |
