Are you sure... ? Does the US give aid to India?

This is of course the type of project that makes you question giving aid.

Just to drag it off topic a little though... Caravan countries.

Why on earth do we give so much money to india,, they are the 2nd/1st most populated country in the WORLD, so why 1 billion plus people need our aid is beyond me.

Yeah - the two times I was there for work it certainly did.  I'd leave the hotel for the 45-minute drive to the office. By the time I'd arrive I'd have dust all over me that didn't smell very pleasant.  Shit dries, human and animal, gets turned into dust and carried hither and yon on the warm and gentle breezes.  The cars I rode in clearly didn't have cabin air filters.  I took a walk near the hotel the first trip.  A fair amount of dog shit on the sidewalk so I thought.  Then I realized I had not seen a single dog.

To be fair, our Statue of Liberty came from France, so I'm not sure how much room we have for trash talk. However, I must say that thing is ugly as sin. It looks like a modern art piece intended to make some snide remark about something. Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want to date the Statue of Liberty, but she does make a handsome monument.

Look at the years. No doubt includes money spent during the Marshall plan (rebuilding of Europe after WW2). The US spent an enormous amount on it to help prevent another conflict (the punitive treaty of Versailles was a major contributor to Germany’s aggression in WW2)

I saw a Youtube vid last night about an Australian company that has employees going door to door aka shanty to shanty selling solar lights to the poor of Indian who have no electricity. The number of poor Indians without electric is estimated at 400 million. Nothing like seeing people bathe in the street and you could see garage everywhere.

Hey India, good expenditure of money. Enrich your enemy as your citizens live in the dark and some starve.

Hundreds of millions for a giant statue of some paunchy non-entity that few have heard of and that nobody will care about in 100 years?

Not even of Gandhi or Nehru?

Not Shiva or Brahma or Vishnu?

Strange culture they have there.

It's equivalent to us building a huge statue of Joe Biden.

India is a rigid caste society. There attitude is who cares about the lowest of the lowly untouchables. Their purpose in Indian Society is the physically scrap shit out of outhouses with their bare hands.

You aren't going to change that. The closest Indians ever got to equality was when the British Raj ruled over them. And even then, not all of India were martial races because a good number of them sucked as warriors and soldiers too.

India is not one people. It is a conglomeration of various principalities, tribes, and peoples mashed together after the leaving of the UK. They are a cultural and ethnographic failure of an easily conquered people for the most part. Corruption, nepotism, graft, theft, laziness, etc... all are main issues within their society.

They only achieved the status they have because of their population and low value on life.

We have always been at war with France. Culturally (and that French Indian War thingy). We give the world liberty and democracy with our revolution, the Frenchies give the world 'safety' and democratic socialism with theirs.
