Why are the LPK's and Uppers sold out or selling for outrageous prices too? Obviously the mags and lowers I understand- but am I missing something? I could even see the uppers with the evil flash hiders, but LPKs??

People are trying to hurry and get the lowers built out so they can be complete prior to a ban.

Why does it need to be complete? Personal preference? Its not going to make a difference if they are banned, the lowers are the only serialed thing anyway...

Those lowers aren't more than paperweights without all the other parts.

but the parts aren't illegal and (in theory) should still be available. That was the deal with the last ban, right?

There are those that believe a lower had to be completed before the day the ban went into effect in order to be pre ban.

Is that accurate?

because people need those parts to make their new builds work properly

To my knowledge, no.  What I've been told was that it was purely off serial number range. But in the gun world, something doesn't need to be true to cause millions of dollars to be spent.

None of it's "illegal", as of yet. But what use is a lower without the parts to make it function? So, yeah LPK's, BCG, everything needed to put together an ar is in short supply. Not to mention that things break, need to be replaced routinely... so everyonyone's buying anything they think they need or may need. Plus it might ALL get banned. I don't think it'll happen, but it seems millions do.
