What the fucking fuck!!!! I order a Weber WSM smoker on sunday with a few other items. I pay to have that shit over nighted expecting delivery on tue. I get everything except the goddamn smoker on tue night!

I used the free amazon prime service and I know I only paid 3.99$ /item to have it overnighted but thats not the goddamn point! I wanted the fucking smoker tue night so I could use it wed. UPS doesnt deliver to my house till almost 6pm and I knew that, thats why I paid for tue night delivery.

Once I find the goddamn customer service link im going to send them an earful.

Oh and to top it off I got an email telling me the smoker is "guaranteed" to be delivered on tue. Fuck them, im not buying amazon prime for a year. I was going to because of the free/cheap shipping options

I've been a prime customer for two years.  We order stuff every week from house hold goods to xmas gifts.  I think we have had two problems with the hundreds of orders we have had.  The customer service is top notch, and they will make it right.  However, that wont get it there any earlier.

Yeah Amazon has been impressing me less and less lately. Their prices are no longer that competitive, for the most part.

Having said that, I just spent $160 (plus fucking tax now) on a diamond lapping plate for my water stones.

They seem pretty awesome to me, I save a ton of money every time I use them to buy. Seldom do I find it cheaper elsewhere. Amazon Rocks .

I still find good deals on there, but as I said in the last Amazon thread, one thing I really hate is their new "add-on" bullshit. Some items WILL NOT ship unless you have $25 minimum in purchases on that order, prime or not. THAT is fucking bullshit, especially if I've already paid for my prime membership, or even if I'm willing to pay shipping.

I am not saying OP you did not get the short end of the deal, but in my personal experience I have always received my orders from Amazon faster than expected. I am somewhat surprised to hear its late given their track record in shipping me my items.

That's odd as they are usually quick to get shit out of their warehouse.

There is a Contact Us section here if you need it.

You'll need to sign and and select the item they messed up one -- their customer service is pretty good though. Be calm and collected, explain the situation, and while they may not get it there any faster, they'll find a way to make it right.

If it was that important then maybe you shouldn't have waited until the day before to order it.

I saw somewhere, maybe Modern Marvels, about the amount of time and money that Amazon puts into perfecting logistics and it's mind-boggling. Over the last however many years, they've made most other online retailers look like inadequate fools. Sadly, no matter how good they get, with an operation that size, there is no 100% success rate no matter how hard they try.

I thank you, OP, for taking the Amazon bullet so that maybe the rest of us don't have to. Before you know it, you'll be smoking something tasty and this will be a distant memory.

Dont procrastinate so much and you wont have to deal with things like this

If Amazon shipped it the right day then it is UPS who wasnt able to keep their side of the deal.  Yes, it is still Amazon's issue because they promised but shit happens.  You go and give them a ear full of bitching and hopefully they will refund your $4.

It is never a good idea to order on Saturday or Sunday, especially if you are expecting and paying for an overnight.  Companies will pack and get you a tracking number/shipping label but they do that for EVERY order placed during Saturday and Sunday and UPS doesnt pick up until Monday morning and has a shit load of work to do Monday in order to get an overnight delivery for Tuesday.  The best day to overnight items if you plan on doing that for whatever reason is Tuesday thru Thursday.

Amazon donated services to Obama's inaugural. With that being said, maybe they have Obama Rot. why anyone would deal with amazon after the tons of money they donate and services to Obama is beyond me.

6/10 for opening with a fuck-double-tap, but still...

So what were you going to put in the smoker?  Pork ribs?  Dillo Dusted?

What wood(s) are you going to use?

I have Prime and have made many Amazon orders, and  every order has been either on-time or early.

On the other hand, I agree with a poster above that some of the prices are going up to the point where Amazon is losing its edge.

99% of my one day and two day prime orders have got to me on time, when they haven't it's been because UPS screwed up. Amazon's customer support has always been excellent.

OP - You said "Once I find the goddamn customer service link im going to send them an earful.", that's easy:

1) Select the order that has a problem

2) Select "where's my stuff", then "shipment is late"

3) Select phone call or chat

(I always do chat, always been satisfied with the response)

Did the grill ship from Amazon, or a third party seller?

If from Amazon, then yeah, that sucks, hopefully they'll do something to make it up to you.

(I just joined Prime recently, and we've placed a couple orders at odd times just to test out the 2 day shipping, and so far, no misses...)

because i get a better price and no sales tax which helps me get my shit and starve the state and fed, which i find to be a bigger threat than funding a private party for an already elected douchbag.

Yeah, seems a lot of "customers" these days are just ready and waiting to jump someones ass.  I'm not saying the OP shouldn't have received his stuff if it was guaranteed, but his "OMG I am so flipping mad I could scream" reaction seems a little dramatic.  That reminds me, I need to go yell at my mom, cause that bitch is late getting my breakfast ready!

Remember the days of mail order catalogs... get a pen, fill out the order form by hand, enclose a check or money order and wait 6-8 weeks for delivery.

It was always an awesome surprise when something did finally show up.

You know if you wanted something right way, there was always this big building with products in it, ready for purchase, and ready to take home....cant for the life of me remember what that damn thing was called.....

I've been a Prime member for years.  I order hundreds of things a year.  I've had exactly two late deliveries.

The first one was a sewing machine for my wife that was ordered from a third party vendor.  They screwed up and failed to ship it on time.  When I contacted them, they were extremely apologetic and shipped it immediately overnight.  I was fully satisfied.

The second occurred two weeks ago.  I ordered a Weber Genesis gas grill direct from Amazon Prime.  The box is huge and weighed 190 lb.  It had to be shipped by common freight.  The box left Amazon on time but the freight carrier was delayed.  It was "guaranteed" second day delivery on Thursday.  I doubted that date from the start because I'm not a moron.  The tracking capability from the common carrier was very limited with, essentially, no updates.  On Thursday, I got a call from the carrier's local office that they saw I had a shipment coming in "over the weekend" and wanted to schedule delivery.  I sighed and scheduled it for Monday.

On Monday, I called the carrier to confirm our delivery appointment and all was well.  Three hours later the carrier called and asked to reschedule my delivery for the next day.  They were extremely apologetic.  The guy driving my delivery truck had a fucking heart attack earlier that morning while making his deliveries.  I got my grill early the next morning and they guy was nice enough to bring it all the way around to the back of the house when he had no obligation to do so.  I was completely satisfied.

For the TL;DR crowd:  OP needs to chill the fuck out.

To be Prime eligible, it has to at a minimum be fulfilled by Amazon themselves.

I've never had something not delivered when they said it would, unless early.  I too overnighted a WSM several years ago.

They'll refund the $4 you paid for overnight...I know it's only $4 and that's not the point but still.
