I've seen this done both ways but I wanted to get some opinions. I have a lot of 22lr ammo. I was thinking of dumping the bulk packs into some of the small ammo cans rather than have the boxes wedged into multiple cans. What says the hive mind?

I would keep them in the original boxes, until I shoot them

You need to send them to me for proper storage.

Keep them in their original boxes, stacked up in ammo boxes. I've been shooting with a guy who keeps spreadsheets of his 22lr ammo lots and how they shoot for way, way too long.

Go back to where you got the bulk packs and ask them to save the cases they came in.
Put the bulk packs back in the cases tape them up and date them when bought.

Not all Lots of ammo are equal, if you get a lot that runs crappy in one gun (say a 1911/22), it may run great in another (10/22) and then you know what to shoot from which when that happens.
