[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Anderson Manufacturing AR15 (Page 1 of 3)

| Anyone have experience with them? I got an email from Brownells and they are selling them for $460 bucks. (complete rifle) Was thinking of picking one up for a trunk gun if they are gtg. Had not heard of them before. |

I think those are complete minus furniture and sights. Has furniture. "Rifle includes standard M4 polymer furniture, which includes a 6 position buttstock. A2 Flashhider" as well. It is missing sights but I have a spare Bushnell 1x red dot sitting in the closet. |
| I have one of their lowers and it is flawless. I heard that later made ones had out of spec pistol grip screw holes (too shallow); not sure if they have been able to correct this. I would hope by now that they sold enough of their lowers to fix all the QA/QC issues and growing pains. |

Hmmm.. I have an awful itchy credit card finger, but I cannot afford to get screwed either. What do you all think? FO or not? I do not think I have ever seen a complete AR at this price before and my mind is screaming at me "too good to be true" and all that. Do It! Where's the link? |

I have had zero issues with Anderson. I have an Anderson lower with a Spikes LPK, PSA black friday $269.99 shipped SS upper thats a friggin tack driver. At latest 3 of us here have had resent issue.  http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_4/704244_Anderson-Lower-with-out-of-spec-buffer-retainer-pin-location.html In that thread, you will see that Anderson sent a modified buffer as a quick fix. If they didn't have lots of this issue, why in the world, would they keep inventory of such a item. |

| I like Anderson stripped lowers. They are readily available and inexpensive compared to other brands. I have built a boat load of rifles with their stripped lowers and lower parts kits but I don't have any experience with any of their other products or complete rifles. |
|
I too have built several of their lowers with zero problems. I have also built a couple spikes and an 80%. All function 100%. If the grip screw hole was out of spec it can be fixed easily. My 80% buffer tube threads were out but I just purchased a tap and die and I am ready to roll on the remainder of my 80%s. Not hard to fix minor problems like that.

Quoted: I panic bought half dozen of their lowers after the Orlando shooting. Built two of them so far and no issues with either. Quoted: Quoted: If their QC is anything like their stripped lowers. Nope. I panic bought half dozen of their lowers after the Orlando shooting. Built two of them so far and no issues with either. Same here. Grabbed five with parts kits free m fatboy tactical. Built one PSA pistol and one rifle. No issues. |

For a cheap beater it's probably OK. Their lowers can have some minor issues and they've been caught shilling here multiple times but other than that they're OK. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile This is strictly to be purposed as an emergency trunk gun, Have a Colt as my main AR. |

Get a Palmetto premium kit and a blemish lower. Heck even a complete lower. Sell excess parts if you get a kit and a complete lower. I'd bet you'd have $450 in a much better gun (bolt, FN barrel, 7075 buffer, etc). There will be more super deals this week for sure. If they had LE6920s fit $799 shipped free today, I can only imagine what the rest of the week may bring.
I get the rational for a "cheaper" truck/trunk gun. Might as well get something that stands a better chance of staying running when/if you've got to run it hard..... Optics Planet had Holosun red dots for $217 today for your beater gun. I toss my primary rifle in the minivan if we are going somewhere festive. Otherwise it stays at home. I'm sure many Moms heads would explode if they had any idea how heavy this Dad rolls at times. My kids are too valuable to risk to a cheap trunk rifle should the need ever (hopefully never) arise. I suppose I could toss the $89 H&R Pardner pump in with a shell belt of slugs.........
But we know how GD feels about shotguns. |

Can't really be much wrong that you can't fix since it's an AR. |

I have a couple Colt rifles that I'm pretty sure were made almost entirely by Anderson. When I say almost entirely, it's because the charging handle & BCG looks so poorly made that I wouldn't be surprised if they were made in China. Both rifles are the Colt "competition" models with integrated trigger guard.
Outside of low quality BCG, these rifles are great. |

But we know how GD feels about shotguns. I have a spare red dot already sitting in the closet. So I am already gtg there. I wont have to spend another penny on it (have a spare sling as well) it will be ready to roll as is for 460 out the door (free shipping too) |

I just built a truck gun with an Anderson lower (PSA upper); and it's been fine so far and everything mated up nice and tight. I did get a 3/4" grip screw since it's not tapped all the way through. http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=93491 Nice stick, but why not use carry handle if you are going for KISS? |

Carry handles are now running a $100. I just built two Anderson Lowers up with PSA kits. Now I need two handles a set of front sights and another receiver and kit in a box needing a rear sight. |

Planning on adding an inexpensive red dot; SparcAR, PA Advanced or something along those lines. |
