What ballistic calculator are you using on your smart phones?

I've used Strelok and it's ok. I had an app on an old phone that was great but I can't remember what it was. It doesn't show in my apps anymore so it must have been removed.

I'm going to head out tomorrow and sight in my rifle with a new load for deer season. The vortex LRBC is having issues loading data for me.

you should know that in your head. no need for a ballistic calculator for anything under a mile.

He should have all of his data as it relates to changes in velocity, temp, etc in his head for under a mile? I have a good memory, but that's hundreds of random numbers to memorize. Either use charts for your particular load/rifle that you have spent time working on, or just figure it out on the fly with a ballistics calculator, but I've never heard of anyone memorizing that much information.

The calculator helps show what a given load will do and how the scope magnification will affect the distance for each hash mark. It also helps figure out if I want to sight the scope in for 100 yards or 200 all before I show up to the range. Given that the scope is not a FFP the magnification settings play a big part in sighting in the scope.

There is now way I'm going to remember everything wile I'm sitting in the deer blind waiting to take the shot. I need chart's to make it quick and easy.

I use Strelok works well for what I need it to do. Obviously the OP is looking for something else.

Strelok works fine and I have the pro version. I had used something else before and it worked better.

Really?

So lets say you memorize the drops for about 30-50 ranges all the way out to 1700 yds.  Are you also memorizing windage values too, and figuring coriolis, temperature and altitude variations?

Now, do you memorize all that for more than one rifle and load?

There could be literally thousands of combinations, even if you shoot on the same range at known distances every time.
