Don't leave valuables in your car at night!
Awhile ago my friend had left a Gps in the window of his car. Next morning $1600 damage and no Gps. My cousin also had her car broken into that same week. She left a purse on the floor and went into the YMCA gym. Came back out and no purse($1000 in gift cards from wedding,S.S. card, drivers License...ect), however a brick found it's way into the car. Fast forward two months. Friends valuables hidden(smarter this time) in 2009 Honda civic console and glove-box. Come out next morning and side window is smashed out and Gps, Ipod, and radar detector are gone. Insurance will not cover window because $500 deductible is slightly more than cost of replacement. Car insurance says belongings are household items not part of cars policy unless specifically added. He had no Renters insurance either. Good news he just got a bonus for $1000 at work. Bad news it will be spent on repairs and replacement of said items. |

Safelite autoglass said $488 to fix the window. He said he has done 35-40 windows since last Monday. ALL BUT TWO WERE BREAK-INS just in the Shadyside, Oakland area of Pittsburgh! He said he has been doing this for two years and it has never been anything like this. |
