OK, which member sent the Mythbusters the pic of the person who blew off his thumb by mis-holding his .460 S&W?
Interesting to watch, and it most likely wouldn't take a .460 to do it-a friend of mine ruined a heavy leather glove doing the same thing with a 12" barreled .357. Obviously he was thankful for the glove when he realized what happened.

We have an ex Atlanta Police Chief named Eldrin Bell, he is a Commisioner in Clayton County which is just south of Atlanta. I remember seeing  information a while back where he was at a private range in someones backyard and a 460 S&W was held incorrectly when shot and the guilty party received damage to a gloved hand.

I believe there were even persons that talked to the Atlanta media regarding the injury and had some pictures taken of the injured extremity, several days later I seem to also remember it getting out on the net. Maybe this is what you speak of but I am almost positive that they have had many other similar injuries with other firearms and with people in completely different locations.

Who knows?

I've also been told someone one county away from me lost his thumb the same way. The incident I mentioned was about 2 years ago, and happened to a poster here. It resulted in a 100+ page thread IIRC.

that's funny because the new episode from this past wednesday she wasn't pregnant

and the episode from last week she was.

i wonder why they mix episodes around like that.

I wish they would cancel Mythbusters and let Grant and Jamie resurrect the Mr. Wizard show.

Some of the experiments take weeks or months to finish or they hit snags and must finish the myth at a later date.
