Minor injuries, but the owner was only charged with dog at large(as of yesterday). Dog runs loose and bites, should be reckless endangerment or something like that. Regardless of the breed the dog's owner should have verified it was in the house, not "I thought he was inside".http://www.globegazette.com/articles/2009/07/28/news/local/doc4a6e6badbdf1f075103331.txt
MASON CITY — An 11-year-old Mason City boy suffered two puncture wounds on the back of his upper thigh after he was bitten by a dog Monday afternoon. Stevie Walisk was riding his bike when a pitbull ran out of a house near the intersection of North Pennsylvania Avenue and 6th Street Street Northeast. “The dog saw me and started chasing after me,” Stevie said. “I just about crashed into it.” The dog is owned by Kayla Fletcher, 23, of 515 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and up to date on its vaccinations, according to the Mason City Police Department. When Stevie almost crashed he came to a stop, and that is when the dog bit him, he said. Stevie said the owners said “sorry” and continued to chase the dog. “I can’t believe they didn’t even see if he was OK,” said his mother, Amy Walisk. Stevie rode his bike home, where Amy Walisk called 911. Amy Walisk declined to have Stevie transported to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa via ambulance. A neighbor was going to take them to the hospital. Fletcher was charged with dog at large. — By Laura Bird Oh, and being my post, IBII and PBAAB(In Before Isolated Incident ans Pit Bulls Aren't All Bad) |

Quite frankly I'm getting tired of articles such as that, where the breed is listed as "Pitbull" therefore, the media latches on. If the breed for Collie or GSD, you'd never see such an article. All the media does is help further the public at larges hysteria as it relates to Pitbulls.
FUCK THE MEDIA! |

Point of fact, bull terriers being responsible for the majority of dog fatalities doesn't help, either. Unfortunately, bull terriers in this country have been destroyed as a breed by backyard breeders and thug culture. |

A 100lb., droopy-eared, frog-eyed dog with a curly tail and a shaggy coat is not an APBT. If I were to use a media term, I would call that breed an, "automatic revolver". My guess is that there are very few problems with REAL, 55lb., APBT's. |
