So I decided it was cheaper for me to buy the GOTY edition than buy Msoft points to get the add-ons off XBL Marketplace and I've been playing through them.

I know I'm a little behind the times but I'm really enjoying them so far.

Operation:Anchorage was kind of meh... while the storyline was cool and the idea of a sim was cool, it was almost a completely different game from the typical FO3 stuff.

I really enjoyed The Pitt. I was a little overwhelmed by the steelyard and collecting all 100 ignots, but what really got me was the moral decision of saving the slaves and kidnapping a baby or letting the baby be but effectively keeping the slaves down. Obviously I tend to play the game toward the good karma side... I can't help it.

I just started Brotherhood of Steel... but that's not why I started this thread...

My question is...

In the original Fallout 3, nighttime in the wasteland was dark but it was like old western film dark. I could still see quite well. Since I installed the add-ons it seems like the nighttime is almost pitch black... it's a little frustrating after dealing with the other for so long, but at the same time I really like it because it actually makes the night a little intimidating...

So... did the add-ons actually make the night darker?

That didn't happen for me when I installed the add ons.

Download Fellout.

Removes the green tint from the sky, and gives you two night time options....darker, and oh my god i cant see my hand in front of my face dark.

Which is probably the most accurate depiction of nighttime in the Fallout 'verse. The reason you can see at night is because of all the ambient light from electric lights. I've heard people who have been out in the middle of the Egypt desert with Bedouin camps and at night, they can't see enough to take a piss without a light source.
