I was just there looking for can of coolant for my A/C and heard on the PA that someone ''has a dog in your car'',it is 90 degrees here today!! When i left the store the police were at the car and it appeared they were writing a ticket to the car owner. I think the LEO should have locked the parents in his car with the windows up and took the kid inside and bought him dinner while he explained why his parents need to be shot.

I just remembered this, a couple years agao my uncle who is a guard at the prison found a dog locked in a car while he was on patrol outside. The car belonged to a couple who was visiting an inmate,he told them twice over the next hour to go outside and get the dog out of the car, they blew him off both times,he told his CO about it and was told to break a window and get the dog out of the car. They were pissed but did nothing about it.

I was at a truckstop in Portland, Oregon once with that same same.  The car had me block at the fuel pumps, and I was going inside to have cashier page them whenI notice the poor dog.

The casheir paged that whoever parked in the fuel island with their dog locked in it, please return to your car and the police have been called.

About 10 minutes passed before they returned and serveral other truck drivers had gathered around the car, we were debating breaking the window out.  I dont know if the police ever came, they were called, but the pet owner acted like we were all crazy.

Hm, thats wrong all right, but I don't think it justifies breaking his window.  Animals are, after all, property.  They aren't people.

I would never treat my dog that way, but who am I to tell someone else how to treat their property?

i'm sure i'll get bitched out for saying this, but screw it. flame suit on.
