It seems the cold weather has driven a colony of ants into my condo. They are invading the kitchen. What would you recommend to kill the little bastards?

FWIW they are tiny ants, not carpenter, or red ants, little guys.

Use an artificial sweetner like saccharin, I heard that works very well.

I've used Terro bait stations on the lawn around the house.  They flock to them like crazy, but I have no idea if they actually work.   There are always more ants.

A product called AMDRO has worked wonders for me. Home Depot or ACE sells it. It is a granulated bait, they take it back to the mond as food a week or so and no more ants.

Sevendust.  There are different concentrations, like seven5 or seven-10.  I have used the seven-10 with great success.
Sprinkle the powder ( it has a flower-like consistency) where the ants are coming in.  It does not kill them immediately, which is good, because the ants will track it back to the colony.
I would look for other means to eliminate them if they are around your food, after all, Sevendust is poison.  If they are coming in through the floor or below the sink, I wouldn't hesitate.  It is great stuff for bees or any insect problems.
