I bought the updated version (2) a few years ago thinking it would be better and the instructions are literally worthless. I can't find a single video on YT of the VG 2. Tons of videos on the original VG. And no, the original VG is different enough that those vids don't apply. I'm actually familiar with the original VG as we have one at work, I know how to use it. Yes I could take my tools to work or even bring the VG from work home to sharpen, but I can't keep it at home. Neither of those scenarios does me any good if I need to sharpen in the middle of a project. Plus, I'd like to be able to make use of the $200 I spent on my jig. Any help is appreciated. |

Regular bowl and spindle gouges sharpen ok, but fingernail gouges need more range of motion than just rolling side to side to be able to get the swept "wings".
