Does anyone know how to remove the spindle from an old Yale mortise lock?
This has a knob on one side only. No spindle hole on the exterior side. The other side is a thumb latch.

The spindle is split. I could not see the join due to grime and rust buildup.

I found the door and lock in a pile of debris when cleaning the barn. I’m turning one the horse pens into a work shop so I am reusing the leftover door. Here it is in a 6” frame. Door Interior
