Kind of lost on this one.
This is dealing specifically with a rental I bought a few months ago. A few weeks after buying, tenants started calling about septic backup, evidentally the former owner didn't mention to tell me that they had constant septic backups. Granted, we've had this happen plenty of times before, and we usually just rent a drum machine, clean it out and everything is good to go. The problem here is that we've rented a drum machine w/ 150ft of cable, and still can't determine the problem. If we could inspect the line visually w/ camera we would be good to go, however there also exists a problem of : If the line is bad, we don't know where it's bad. So, I'm trying to find recommendations on 3 things : A drum machine, a line inspection camera, and a transponder/locator to find exactly where the camera is so that we can determine where the pipes and potential underground breaks are. I am unable to find a local service that offers these things as it's in a somewhat smaller town. Roto-rooter is normally the only place that does it, and they charge $750 for it or so. We had hired them initially to come out and snake the drains, however I am unable to use them again as they managed to destroy 3 drain pipes in the house, a toilet, and broke off their snake inside the one tenant's toilet, breaking it. So needless to say I'm not happy with them and won't be using them again. |
