Oh boy here we go. Buckle up OP, you’re in for a ride asking this in GD.

wait and see if GrabAGun runs a grab-a-quote deal like they did for the M17.

Not sticking a piece of shit pistol of questionable build quality, fully cocked striker, and no way to actively control the firing mechanism while holstering, pointed at your femoral is not fudd shit. It's common fucking sense which seems to be a little less common every goddamn day with the proliferation of half-whit retard YouTube gun channels.

I used to entertain the thought of one as a suppressor host in an OWB holster set-up, but I think that role might get filled by either CZ or Beretta.
If I was going striker fired, I’d be tempted to go with the M18. |
|
I ordered one this morning. It's possibly going to replace my P07. I wanted something with fucking holster options.

I have 2 M17s so I was going to get the M18 without the safety in order to swap some fire control groups around.
This would give me a "clone" M17 and M18 with a legoed full size built on an M17 side with optic. However, even though the display at the SIG Academy says "available without manual safety " that variant hasn't shipped yet. Ill have to pick it up next time I'm back home on leave. I did buy the X5 Legion though... I really like the modularity of the P320 but I don't need 3 manual safety P320s. Quoted:
You would think there would be more for as long as the P07 has been out. I only carry AIWB and was able to find a JM holster pretty easy View Quote Market penetration and organizational adoption does. |

A safety on a pistol? Gross.
I have a regular p320 already anyway |

Looking at picking one up for AIWB carry, it seems $599 is the lowest I can find and I assume the MAP. https://www.sigsauer.com/store/media/custom/product/M18-FEATURE-4.jpg https://i.ytimg.com/vi/3Zr5zg-eyII/maxresdefault.jpg Real deal USGI here: https://www.sigsauer.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/M18_MHS_web.jpg View Quote |

Quoted: Again, I need to hear how this is different (other than a thumb safety) from a 320? View Quote It isn't really different from a base P320 which is kind of the point. If you don't need/want the M17/M18 configuration exactly there are plenty of P320 configurations that can be bought that would work better for you. If you think it's too expensive get a basic P320. If you don't mind the price but want more features fit the price get an X-Carry/X-full. If you're mad it's a P320 then get whatever Glock you want. No one is forcing you to buy one. No one is saying it has the prefect feature set or does something better than anything else out there. But many people (myself included) are interested in buying the DoDs current issue handgun. |

Son bought one last month. He got less than 200 rds through it and the take down pin broke in half. He just got it back Monday from SIG. He said it feels completely different now. Slide is smoother, the take down pin clicks in place, not having to force it open. He’s quite pleased with it now. I’m even thinking of one along with an RMR and a threaded barrel and build a Form 1 can for it.
Here’s a pic he sent tonight. His roommate liked it so much he went and bought one too. Attached File |

But good info regardless. |

Derp!
So, to keep in line with the thread, M18 or M17 as a host for a can? Which would be better? |

Nah, I'm more than satisfied with my HK P30 which I got for a hundred bucks less.

What does it do that the G19 doesn't do? I have a Sig M 25 and it turned out to be a big piece of crap even after going back to sig for repairs for multiple things. I have a G19 and I love it, I like the look of the P320 oh sorry M17 and M18 I forgot, the 320 isn't tactical. I like the way the ergo looks but the G19 seems to still be the perfect carry gun.

View Quote I own 5 Glocks and 4 P320s along with a half dozen other guns. Oddly, I don't have to choose between anything. The M17/18 are the DoD guns. You may not like them, or the feature set offered. In that case get whatever P320 does offer what you want or need, or get another Glock. Or a 1911 or whatever else that does speak to you. I own a G19. Like like I'll be issued one sometime in the next few years. Doesn't matter to me. Both are great guns. No one is forcing the M18 down your throat. Seriously, what kind of barely coherent response is this? |

Owning a M17, I’d be interested in just the slide, but if I can get a whole gun for a good price, I’d go that route.

I bought one of these from a local gun shop for $600 plus tax. Took it today, with a few different handloads and a few different factory self defense loads too. Overall, it wasn't too impressive, but I'm hoping it'll improve after I put some more rounds through it and things settle in a bit. Definitely not CZ75 accurate, or as accurate as the first two P320's I've owned in the past, but maybe it was just a bad day of shootin'. I wonder what the accuracy requirement is for a service pistol.
Here's the best group, 25 yards from a rest: Attached File Attached File |

Do these still fire when dropped? Stopped considering the 320 a long time ago when that debacle happened
