I heard if you do this you can make your rifle fire automatic?
9/3/2008 4:29:34 PM EDT

I hear people say this all the time.... if the idiots knew what an auto sear was and what it did maybe they would understand.

Make sure you file the very tip to a needle-sharp point. The gases escaping from the pierced primer help push the carrier back faster, increasing your cyclic rate.

I works man.

I put a light buffer in mine and was shooting 2000 RPM.  My groups opened up to 3/4 an inch at 500 yards doing this though, so I don't think I'm gonna shoot it like this often.

When I was a Submarine Tail Gunner (STG's are totally more elite than Space Shuttle Door Gunners) I was taught how to convert a Marlin 925 into a full-auto by filing down the Firing Pin, and one of the Sears.  I'd show you how, but then I'd have to . . . . . . . . well, I just won't say it.  I think you understand

Just grind off the tip until it doesn't stick out at all. That way you won't kill yourself or commit a felony.

I did, but the super awesomeness of having full auto made me freak out so I switched to a pump shotgun (empty) so I could rack it and scare people.

I though it was the shoulder thingy that goes up that makes it FA!
9/3/2008 4:36:08 PM EDT

I have.

With fine wet or dry paper to clean up a pierced pin so I could keep shooting until I got a new pin.

Yep.  Done that too, same reason.  Need a diamond file as it is too hard to cut with a steel file.

Submarine Tail Gunner's are allowed to make post-may machine guns without paying a tax stamp, or anything, 'cause we're so elite.  For others it might be a felony, but not for us.

I filed down the firing pin an my mother-in-laws Arisaka  while it was in my custody ( she calls it her Japanese Sniper Rifle, even though it's just a crankster sporterized POS), she's 5150 and I was worried she was going to shoot my Father-in-law. When she eventually trys  all she'll get is a "click" and hopefully he'll give her what she's got coming.

I always thought this was the dumbest joke. Then I got into a conversation with a co-worker. This idiot tried to tell me that he "filed the fireing pin on his russian K, shined it up real nice".  Me:

Looked just like this guy

Oh, he "was in the military" (Probably thought this added to his credibility.)

Yes, I did.
Because when I ordered a replacement for the broken one in my gun they sent the wrong one. Fortunately it was almost identical except for the length so I filed it down. It is still working (semi-auto only) to this day

Full auto is fun only as long as you don't have to pay for the ammo and still pay the mortgage and buy food.
