Ok this isn't a horrible issue since it seems to be resolved once i close the window/Chrome down. When I go to delete history I've noticed after I do it and I got to type in the address bar I briefly still will see previous sites I had visited(they don't stay up as suggestions for long but I briefly see them and then they vanish). This is however solved once i close the window and then I reopen Chrome. The issue is resolved. At first I thought it was a virus or malware. But I have done two virus scans. One with Norton Security Suite and then I did the second with Spybot seek and destroy. Both turned up nothing. I also did a quick scan with Malwarebytes.

After doing those scans I was curious if anyone is having a similar issue?

I haven't seen that particular behavior, but I am seeing something else that bugs me (and wonder whether everyone is seeing it).

When you right click in the URL navigation address field, you can paste a URL from the clipboard or "paste and go" to navigate to that URL without having to hit the enter key.

Lately, instead of showing 'paste and go', it shows 'paste and search', as if it does not recognize that what is in the clipboard is a URL. If you actually choose 'paste and search', though, it actually does a 'paste and go'.

Not having either of those issues.  Out of curiosity, what OS are each of you using?

Win8 and Win7 here.

Windows 7 is my OS.

I also had some oddball issue where googleleadservices.com appeared in the address bar o_O

I did a scan after I seen that and still got nothing. It appears to be gone now. I uninstalled and then reinstalled Chrome and it seems to have cleared up the issue that I was having previously.

I just switched back to Chrome after several years on Firefox because FF has degenerated into a fucking pig.  I couldn't take the retard any more.

Never mind. It seems to be back

I opened up IE to see if I had the same issue and it doesn't appear to have the same little problem. I'm wondering if this is just a Chrome thing now since I've done three scans with three anti-virus/malware programs with no hits. Is anyone else having something similar?

Are you sure you're not getting an Autofill entry?

They are two different things. Here's how to check that Autofill entry (or technically, how to delete data from it)
Click the wrench icon wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
   Select Settings.
Click Show advanced settings and find the "Passwords and forms" section.
   Click Manage Autofill settings.
In the dialog that appears, select the entry you'd like to delete from the list.
Click the x that appears at the end of the row.

Hope that helps.

Just tried that and all it gave me was the option to add street addresses. Nothing on deleting web addresses. I also have autfill disabled.

How about the 'prediction service'?
If this doesn't fix it, I'm going to go with the "I'm not saying it's aliens....but it's aliens". jpg

When you type in the address bar, Google Chrome can use a prediction service to help you complete the web addresses and search terms that you're entering. For example, typing new york in the address bar could bring up http://www.nytimes.com as a predicted site or [ new york city ] as a predicted search.

To help you differentiate between web addresses and searches, a search icon appears next to searches in the address bar menu; a suggested sites icon appears next to web addresses.

Unless your default search engine uses a different prediction service, the search terms that show up are the same ones that would show up if you were searching on Google. Learn more about Google's autocomplete algorithm
Disable the prediction service

The prediction service is typically turned on by default. Follow the steps below to turn it off.

Click the wrench icon tools menu on the browser toolbar.
   Select Settings.
   Click Show advanced settings.
In the "Privacy" section, deselect the "Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar" checkbox.

Keep in mind that the address bar shows matches from your browsing history, in addition to predictions. If you don't want to see matches from your browsing history, clear your browsing history.

Nah. I have predictive services disabled...I guess you better use that meme then lol!

Anyone else? Im still not sure if this is a virus or malware. As I said once I delete browsing history and such I will still get my previous searches show up in the address bar, but only for less then a second and then they disappear. Once I close that window/chrome down and then reopen Chrome however its gone it does none of that. Quite odd as I said. Nothing catastrophic so far such as redirects or a slowdown in speed and such. I think last night was really weird because I had googleleadservice.com in the address bar and I had never been there and it wouldn't delete from the search bar even after I had deleted history.

Then of course this morning it was gone. Quite strange
