I'm not getting a lot of replies in the Chicom forum... Norinco 56s questions (<––- link) |
|
Quoted:
Wasn't there a few 56S rifles that had the 3rd pin at one time? I think those were all the milled Mak90s that came in during the early 90s, if you are talking about the guns that got out on the market and then the ATF tracked them back down... OP = I would shoot it, nice gun, but with good Arsenal (Russian) guns available now, it seems that the market is not as strong for the Chinese guns... That seems to be the way local conditions are anyways. |

Believe it or not, my brother had a full auto AK. The full auto position was not marked on the receiver. But it had a full auto sear and it would fire full auto if you properly applied the selector. It scared the hell out of my brother the first time he fired a burst. But after that he played dumb and fired it only in the semi auto mode. I don't know what happened to the rifle. It was over 25 years ago. |

Chinese stamped AK rifles are well made. They use 1.5mm thick sheet metal for the stamped receiver (.5 mm thicker than Russian made rifles) due to limitations in Chinese metallurgy at the time, and were actually selected by USN SEALs when they purchased some AKs some time back.
The Legend series AK with it's milled receiver would be a gem to own. An almost exact copy of the rifle that the PLA supplied to the NVA (and used by some VC) during the Vietnam War. |
