I just used it for the first time. I know Android has something similar. After using it, a prediction:
Cash is gone, 5 years max. |

I'm sure the same thing was said when plastic cards came out I don't know, using a card even takes like 10 seconds and you have to actually swipe it or type in a pin. This takes 1 second. You know the feeling when you get really annoyed at people paying with a check because it's making the line so slow? That's debit/credit card physical card swipers in 5 years. |
| I never even knew any of the places here had it. I saw a lady in front of me at the grocery store just hold her phone up to the swiper thing and do it. When it was my turn the checkout girl said they've had it for awhile now. There was no sign or anything, just this little clear plastic thingy on the swiper. I guess I will look for those from now on. |
| I use it all the time. I especially like the fact it saves me the frustration of going through 2-3 more prompts of "is the total correct", "do you want cash back" and my favorite... "Do you want the receipt emailed or printed". Never mind I don't have to touch that filthy ass card reader and the buttons on there anymore. |
| well i use a trac fone, pay cash for all purchases have not used my atm debit or credit card for any purchases in stores in around 5 years, only use credit card for online purchases.debit card only used at atm,or sometimes i go in for a cash withdrawal and im in my mid 40s .went back to how i grew up, cash in pocket. |

Walmart, the US's largest retailer, does not take Apple Pay and has not since it launched 2+ years ago. Applepay was launched October 2014. Walmart as a TON of pay terminals, I can see why they don't want to upgrade them for a very small minority of users. They were also in a consortium pushing a competing technology IIRC. Target is planning to start accepting ApplePay soon. More and more stores are accepting it (along with Google Wallet, Samsung Pay, etc) I even found a drink machine in a very remote location that accepted it. I used ApplePay in the middle of BFE to buy a Coke. It used a cellular modem for the transaction. Pretty neat really. Both of my local grocery stores accept it now (Farm Fresh and Food Lion). Exxon is planning to support it on their gas pumps. |

They could probably bully into getting their free or really cheap I tend to use it at places that has NFC terminals working. It's quick and easy |

Only reason I don't like applepay is because I don't want to put a lock on my phone. No one uses my phone so I don't feel a need to lock it. Hope you don't lose your phone. Also with TouchID unlocking the phone is simple Me too. I should just use the touch id function for peace of mind. |

Do you have your email account on it? Do you have lots of web accounts tied to that email account? You need to lock your phone. It bears repeating once more: You need to lock your phone. |

Man, talk about laziness...even when I had an iPod Touch I put a passcode on it. |

I've even seen an attractive woman's bare breasts in the produce section of a Walmart. |

Love you guys using you cards and phones to pay for everything. Now you can't hide anything from us. We know everything about you. Your government thanks you for being a loyal servant. ![]() You sound like the kind of guy who wears another guy's finger on a necklace to unlock his iPhone. |
| I love ApplePay and use it whenever it's an option. Just in case anyone is curious and doesn't know, any time you see the contactless payment logo you should be able to use ApplePay even if there's not a specific ApplePay logo telling you so. Same thing with Google's NFC implementation of Android Pay. |
| At a recent conference I was invited to there were discussions of the future of physical currency. It is safe to say that physical currency is much harder to track then "electronic currency" and that itself will give the edge to cash. Cash always works. Electronic transactions will allow you and your identity to be profiled more and more. Buy a shitload of cheatos at walmart, walmart now knows you love cheatos, etc. I think you get the idea. Thats your choice. You love to use it than you open your ID and habits to another world. Me I'll use cash. Just my 0.2 |
