If you knew that a fellow LEO got railroaded unjustly/politically.  And came to your department for a job would you consider him.
Specifically a Border Patrol Agent , SRT/ EMT DDT instructor,8 yrs svc ect.....

Not that I know one personally, of course....

I had that happen to me at a previous agency. I was allowed to resign (after being told I was fired) because I drew my gun on a city alderman's daughter and chased his son during a bad incident where I was hurt and without backup. It was strictly politics––other aldermen from the same city told me so when they hired me as their chief of police 10 months later.

So yes, if I knew someone (who otherwise was a good officer) got screwed over bullshit, I'd certainly consider hiring him/her.

*Edited for clarity.

There was an officer at another agency (same county) that had it in for me.  He called my Captain and told him a line of stuff that
to this day I don't know what was.  The next day, I was keelhauled for giving someone my coat in 15 degree weather that had
"Sheriff" on the back of it. Oh, I was off duty, and it was the only jacket I had with me.

For the record, the other officer is not speaking to his Mother from what I've heard.  He got all butthurt at her over something, then
moved and changed agencies (yet again) and didn't let her know where he was.

I would look into it and wouldn't just take the officer's word that he was screwed over.  But, if the story checked out, I'd hire him.  I would make sure that he/she is fully aware of our policies and procedures before allowing him/her to work on his/her own.
