I see various thoughts on the significance of the date, and I would like to try and start some meaningful topics..... IS there anyone who doesnt think ONLY a coward would do what McVeigh did? That while the ATF AND our government may be WAY out of control, WE send the kommies to DC who are actually allowing this crap..... Is there actually anyone who thinks so called 'patriots' will continue to go directly at the government? Does anyone have ideals on how BEST a TRUE patriot would engage the government? How many of us ACTUALLY write letters to their reps, and how many of us believe it will do anything meaningful??? How many of us KNOW these agents and reps of the agencies and spend time talking to them...Finding out their positions, and sharing insight to our knowledge... OVER.... |

I spend a fair amount of time writting my congressmen and the white house. I do get personal responses from my senators Mcveigh was not only a coward but a patsy. I have a hard time believing he pulled that off the way the gov. says he did. |

Part of the reason we continue to lose ground is that our political foes are pre-programmed, through their ideology, to be better at navagating the system. We, by our nature, tend to want less government intrusion. We therefore tend to avoid contact if at all possible with the governmental authorities. Socialists, by their nature, want government to control just about everything (as long as it conforms to their views). They are valued by politicians as they are their dream voter. One that will give the government more authority. Hence, their voice will carry more sway with the politicians. Oh yeah, McVeigh should die a horrible death. This country is still the best place to live on the Earth. |

Cav Vet, You are one of the more thoughtful men on this board. I admire you. I vehemently disagree with TM's actions, if he was involved. Indiscriminate murder of civilians is wrong, wrong, wrong. At this point in time we all need to be as involved as possible in the ways you mentioned, but mostly to work incessantly to sell others on our (and the Founders') ideas concerning liberty. I read one of your posts where you said you routinely take non-shooters with you to the range. This is the only way to win, plus other actions such as calm, rational discussion with those who are uninformed about the issues. There may be a time when the tree of liberty needs pruning, but this is not it. Hang in there, and happy Patriot's Day. The holiday is not forgotten by all. BTW, thanks again for your service to the Country! |
| CavVet...my own personal problem with McViegh is that he is either a puppet of the govm`nt, or a total wacko who got out of hand....i believe the media is so damn "proficient" at painting a picture for the general public that it can cloud the reality of what being a true american citizen is all about. i also believe that it is a intentional effort on a daily basis to do so.... that does not, however, take anything away from honest american citizens who do appreciate the freedoms that we DO have, and those who gave sacrifice to assure that right. corny as it MAY sound,(to SOME )and you hear that all the time from those who take it for granted,it is the absolute fact!...anyone who has been in military situation played team sports on a serious level, knows the meaning of teamwork, and forgets the petty concerns race, religion, personal habits, backround etc.....my own feelings at this point is that the "real" control factor is basically "untouchable" at least where persons like myself are concerned, and yes i wish there was something meaningful that i could do about it, but what? (Mcviegh DID NOT act alone,POSSIBLY his constituants do not know what to do either) there is SO MUCH we do not know...are we better off living our insignificant lives and letting it go?..[heavy] |
