OK, please settle a debate regarding building elevation views (exterior).
When looking east toward a 'west' facing wall, Is the elevation view labeled: A) West Elevation OR B) East Elevation Thanks!! |

Not sure what you're asking. When looking at an elevation, it is labeled. If you're looking at a west elevation and want to see an east elevation, turn to the appropriate page.
ETA After reading your question several times, I would have worded it differently, the answer is West. |

I believe it would be a West elevation.
The label is referring to the direction the wall is facing, not you. ETA: From Wiki... Each elevation is labelled in relation to the compass direction it faces, e.g. the north elevation of a building is the side that most closely faces north. |

Not an architect but my understanding is the elevation is the way the surface most closely faces. So, if the WALL faces west, it's a west elevation, though you're "looking" towards the east. |

Quoted: Of course, if the floor plan is properly marked with notation indicating elevation view, it's a moot point. http://blog.graphisoftus.com/wp-content/uploads/Plenty-of-Hyperlinks.jpg This. Label correctly and reference in plan. West Elevation. In the industrial world, we go one step further and state which way the "view" would be facing in a title/subtitle on drawing. MPS123 Elevation- looking north.
