Then I tell them I’m actually in my 50’s and they are stunned with nothing left to say. Yes this actually happens. I distinctly remember this example of the mayotanker mentality. Back in college, the main group of friends I hung out with had ONE fat girl (before I’d ever heard the term DUFF), who always made snide comments about fit girls. We were hanging out at their apartment one day (4 girls shared the 2-bedroom apartment). I don’t recall the topic of conversation that triggered it, but I remember the fat girl saying, “Yeah… I hate seeing all those skinny bitches, always running around on campus in their tight little t-shirts and short shorts”, WHILE this hamplanet was sitting on the couch eating straight out of a large tub of Haagen Dazs. I remember thinking, “Did you ever consider that if YOU tried running around campus regularly instead of eating ice cream by the gallon, that you could be one of those ‘skinny bitches’, too?” *** one of the other guys had the same thought, and later mentioned, “And that particular flavor of Haagen Dazs she eats all the time, is literally the highest calorie flavor they make”. |

Back before Covid, when various places were open 24 hours, I made the mistake of going to a Walmart for something late at night, on the 1st of the month. ONE lane open, and 5 people ahead of me, each with carts loaded up just like that. Learned my mistake, not to ever go there late at night on the 1st of the month. As GD is fond of pointing out, the ideal time to go to grocery stores, is around 7am, way before those types wake up. |

WTF is up with this bullshit anti-bayo lug crap. Was there a group of irrate japanese guys bonzai charging disabled school children and puppies that I wasn't aware of?

Go just about anywhere, and what do you see? FAT PEOPLE. Now, find a photograph of a crowded beach, mall, etc from the 1970s, and what do you NOT see? FAT PEOPLE. The government's war on hunger has created a nation of FAT people. I cringe every time I see a reporter doing a report on people they refer to as food-deprived. Most of these people are just FAT, and we are giving them more food. |
I see what you did.

| Another aspect of this is the demonization of "fat" and the bogus claim that consuming fat makes you fat. In place of fat the food producers used sugar which nukes your metabolism. In addition your brain needs a certain amount of saturated fats - otherwise your mental health declines. Oddly enough a vegan whack job/researcher discovered the link and ultimately started consuming fish and maybe eggs too, been a long time since I read the account. |

Back during the Vietnam War, the American diet was so fatty that 18 year old combat casualties were showing incipient heart disease when autopsied. That made everyone panic about eating fat. Since human beings LOVE the taste of fats/oils and sugar, the food vendors stopped loading everything with fat and started loading it with sugar. That's why cheap garbage food like a Whopper has 12 grams of sugar. Sugar makes bad food taste wonderful. Snapple is a bottle of sugar ooze because without it, it would taste... like cheap garbage. Your body actually hates sugar and it effs your metabolism up. |

Your body actually hates sugar and it effs your metabolism up. I saw some M.D. quoting that Vietnam KIA study. I then tried to look that study up. It has all sorts of confounding issues…. The most eye searingly obvious is how do the researchers know what the dead troops were eating say six months to a year prior to being KIA’ed? How do they know that this “incipient heart disease” wasn’t caused by smoking? Camel cigarettes used to come in the C-rats. Or better yet, maybe the stress of being in combat and having cortisol levels off the charts was causing this “heart disease”? I sure as shit don’t “trust the science” from 6 years ago. I’m trusting the science even less from SIXTY years ago. ![]() |

I think even mens pants are suffering from vanity sizing these days as my ancient 32" ones are about the same waist as my 29" now. |
