What would cause the sudden flushing of the entire body combined with a tingling sensation and being light headed. Has happened twice in so many weeks , the main sensations last only a couple seconds but you get little tingly spells for a couple hours after

*Update*

Went to the doc , was diagnosed with Hypertension and high bp. My bp was 236/139

I was prescribed Amlodipine Besylate 5mg and Clonidine HCL 0.2mg

The flushing is a peripheral dilation, and then the lightheadedness is from the drop in blood pressure from the peripheral dilation

Hard to say why though

Any new meds?

Did you take Niacin?

Niacin will cause the flushing..  the lightheadedness could be a Vasovagal_response to the flushing..

and this concludes my knowledge of most medical stuff..

edited to add..  im not a copy cat, as i was typing all the previous were posting about niacin.. lol

I think its the BC powders

bc powder issue

or a peptic ulcer  looks for the section "What symptoms do ulcers cause?"  copied from the articl "Other symptoms might include “passing out” or feeling lightheaded. "

more side effects

Even at 6'7" 300# is on the heavy side. You might want to go in for a physical, get some lab work done.

Unless you are a serious body builder, then maybe 300# works but I will need pics to determine this.

Well it happened the first time with the Excedrin , I felt like I was taking too many and switched to the BCs but they may have a lot of the same make-up

I had something like this happen 5 or 6 years ago. I was working outside a lot for a week, during the summer and drinking a lot at night. One day it just hit me, I got really dizzy, my pupils dilated and I felt shitty for a few days. I assumed it was severe dehydration and took easy for while.

You're in TX. Outside a lot? Drinking enough water? It's hot as hell in GA right now.

But in a moment of seriousness, I will say that it would be worth it to go to a doc or doc in a box of some sort and make sure you don't have issues with high blood pressure (it can creep up until your body can no longer tolerate it) or bleeding from the BC.

Sorry about the crack regarding pics. I get distracted now and then. Ask anyone.

Classic *apple shape* = you carry your weight in your torso.

Major risk factor for heart disease. As is the cigarette.

See a doc.

No problem.

Could be something simple like dehydration or something more serious but you won't know until you go in and find out.

Cocaine?

<Edit> ...but seriously, BC powders (which coincidently do look a lot like coke) can cause ulcers/bleeding/dizzyness...

Wow, that's about what my grandmother's BP was when she was 90 years old and skipped her meds.  The root cause was never diagnosed, but we strongly suspect she had primary hyperparathyroidism.

I hope that works for you.  A word of warning on Clonidine per my mom:  The rebound effect from skipping a dose is very strong.  Don't skip doses ever.
