Yeah I know it's the devil...

Can some explain to me, in the simplest of idiot terms, how can I add photos people can see in my albums but I don't want them broadcast on everyone's newsfeed when I ad them??? All the info I find online googling seems out of date/not matching Facebooks current setup and Facebook is confusing enough to navigate. I found how to add a phot and do the "only visible to me" thing which keeps it off the newsfeed but then it also won't show in albums. I want visible in albums just not everyone's newsfeed.

It should give you an option as to who can view any image, set it to custom and pick who can and can't see it. Do a test image using a random image, plug it in and play with it to set your parameters.

Change your privacy settings to "friends except acquaintances."  It will still pop on their news feed but at least it's not going to everyone and anyone.  If you don't want it to show up post them so only you can see them and wait a few days and change the setting so they can see it.  That kind of hides it because they weren't posted recently.

I don't think there's a way to do what you're asking. You can have it visible or hidden, not both.I think Chargerkid above had the best advice--post them hidden then unhide later.

Aww busted

No really I'm the worst Facebooker. I never update things but once in a blue moon. I want to add a bunch of pictures to my albums but don't want to flood them onto the newsfeed cause they're not new and don't want to look like some kind of attention whore.

Upload them all. Then go to your timeline and remove it from your timeline. They'll still be in the album, but it won't be visible on your timeline and other people's news feeds.

"who can see this?"  >  "post on your timeline"

people will still be able to see them if they go to your page,  but they won't pop up on everyone elses newsfeed.

I'll give it a shot. I thought it said even if I remove it from timeline it'd still be visible in newsfeed.

you do it at 3am in the morning while the rest of the world is sleeping, then it will hopefully scroll off their news feed before they wake.

because who the fuck scrolls down that stupid thing anyway.

I don't think just adding a photo to your album will show in the newsfeed. You would have to post it on your timeline to show in everyone's newsfeed. Now your friends will be able to see it if they browse your albums.
