Anybody else have problems displaying arfcom?
The safari browser sizes the page so that there is a decent sized grey bar on the right. It makes for tiny text.
Anybody have a better way?

Ok, I'll bite. My phone is an android, and it isn't any better! I can never hit the little green arrows!

I don't have that problem.

Mine does it both ways.

Ads across the top are fine, but the post area is smaller. And the quick double tap that usually makes things auto fit doesn't work.

Download Chrome browser from the App Store..  The double tap zoom is sized perfectly for ARFcom.

(then absinthe that bitch and use the anybrowser hack, also... Not required, but amps up the usefulness in terms of links from other apps, etc....)

Mine doesn't do the grey bar unless some idiot has posted a huge picture or a long unbroken line of text(like a retarded long URL that refuses to line break). Just pinch and zoom and scroll around bro.

I just turn my iPad sideways and the gray bar is thin.  I have been curious who the sponsor is at the top between Trijicon and Larue as their logo doesn't show up on my iPad.

Can you expand on your parenthesis?

I always hack all my gear, but I've left the iPad stock. I feel like I would use it more if the browser was less clunky, and had some sort of sync with my computer.

The form factor of the iPad is great, but I can browse SO much more efficiently on my MacBook.

Also, I realize I can pinch and scroll, but that is a PITA when I'm jumping across multiple threads.
I want it to 'just work'

+1 here too. I have my Arfcom user setting to bigger text though so that may be why.

Ok, just set bigger text. That's an improvement. We'll have to see what it looks like on my laptop...

Sorry, I don't know what to tell ya, but I hope you get it sorted out.

I'm still researching different android devices, and haven't actually used it much.

Seems to me that different browsers handle certain sites better than others,

so you might want to consider looking into that.

Absinthe (my preferred jailbreak, is your iPad a 3?) in order to use the anybrowser hack.  Typically installing a new browser doesn't impact things like opening links in emails or other embedded links.  Anybrowser let's you effectively replace Safari as the default system browser - i haven't opened Safari in weeks... (you can still use Safari any time you want if you prefer, it doesn't uninstall it, it's just no longer the default)

That happens but rarely on my three.  Refresh fixes it, not that it matters you just zoom in until your desired size...

I prefer and use Atomic Web rather than Safari. The Videos will actually play in Atomic Web.
