Been thinking about applying for a job with the local armored car company & was wondering what the pro's and con's of working as a armed guard/driver in a armored car are.

Ya have to provide your own weapon, but from what I understand they have a liberal weapon policy & you have to train and qualify with your weapon on their course, but they supply the ammo.

So, what are the in's and outs of working for an armored car company

Keep one eye on your surroundings and the other on your partner.

Why would you ask here?

I don't trust most of those outfits.

I had a friend that just quit workin for one of the big armored car companies last week.  They had him working 12-16 hours a day, 5 days a week with Sun and Mon off.  He stuck with it for a month, or so, until he got a job he liked better.

They promised CLEET, but they were too busy and wouldn't let him go.

A good friend of mine has worked armored security for 12 years.
The stories he tells me bring new meaning to the word idiot.
Guards having ND's in the cab of the truck. Money falling off the the truck, The trucks in general are in such bad repair one of the bodies came off the frame, most of the doors won't shut, ect ect

I did it part time for about 5 years. I really enjoyed it. The only thing is you get stuck with a goof ball sometime. Majority of the time I worked a friend of mine and we ran a tight truck route. Just be carefull and watch your back, no need to be John Wayne for some else money. If you have anymore questions email at [email protected] John
