What type of steak/ gound beef (mince to Aussies I think) do you use?

I've been to aussie twice and they love pies. Vegetable pies, meat pies etc. Just shove cooked meat into a pie crust and cook till golden brown.

Always use the cheap cuts because you need to stew it long and so it doesnt dry out. I use chuck. The reason we say 'meat pie' as opposed to 'beef pie' is that roo meat is often used. I made a dinner pic thread a few weeks ago where i made one. Try and find it if you can. Pies are cheap to make it doesnt cost more than $5 to feed your whole family. Also you can flavour them however you want. Cook a thai curry thicken it up well and shove it in a pie crust its all good.

Not the subject I thought this thread was going to be about.

Putting meat into pie form is a great idea. Fast and conveniant.

Make sure you have seen 'Sweeney Todd' though.
