I'm drawing an intersection for a class I'm in, and I can't get my lane lines to look dashed in my layout space. I have the linetype set as ACAD_ISO, and it looks correct on the model space, but when I switch over to the layout it looks like a solid line. I know it has something to do with the linetype scale, but I can't figure it out. Any help?

Type LTSCALE =.125 TO WHATEVER. PLAY AROUND WITH THE SCALE .
THEN REGEN ALL...

Im more of a Pro-e guy but from what experience I have in AutoCad it sounds like a scale problem. IIRC there is a way to adjust the scale of your line in the line properties but I may be wrong. Good Luck

Stupid question time.  Are you zoomed out too far to be able to see the line separations so that it only appears to be a solid line.  If it isn't that and it is a standard 10 foot dash with a 20 foot separation let me know.  I have one saved in my program.  It will drop it in to scale.  If you need it let me know.

This would be my thought. Did you try it and has it worked yet?

You could always cheat and draw individual line segments too.

You can try to leave the LTSCALE at whatever you want in model space so it looks right (I use 20 or 25), then set PSLTSCALE to zero or one, whichever is the oppostie of the current setting. After you REGEN (or maybe exit and re-open) you should see the line dashed in both MS and PS.

What he said.....I usually set ltscale to the scale of the the drawing in PS......If I do a zoom scale in the ViewPort (say 1/20xp for a 20 scale dwg) I set the ltscale to 20 then regen....

Your LTscale should be set to what corresponds to your dimscale and intended output scale - change your PSLTscale to one or zero (like the previous poster suggested - opposite to what it is now.)

Check your drawings scale settings and make sure to re-gen.

Ah, the old "just treat AutoCAD like it's an expensive MSPaint" technique.

I have the layout at a 30 or 40 scale at the moment. It's not anything too detailed just a basic intersection. I never did try to REGEN after I messed with the LTSCALE last night. I'm about to go work on it in a few minutes after I'm down perusing arfcom. Will post an update.

Thanks for everyone's help!

That's an absolute last resort.

Your Modelspace(MS) and Paperspace(PS) Ltscale are two separate entities because when you are in MS there is typically no scale, when in PS you are limited the scale of your paper. Therefore It's not possible to change your ltscale in MS and keep the same spacing in PS. What I usually do is set the ltscale in model space while you are working so that it is visible, when you are ready to switch to paper space and print, change your MS scale back to 1 and switch to PS, then change your ltscale inside PS to fit your needs. You can also set the individual line scale using properties, and change the 1 type so that the ltscale change isn't global. If you need more help send me a pm.

Problem solved. Jumped back and forth between model and layout spaces adjusting the LTSCALE, the individual scales of the lines, and the PSLTSCALE and then doing REGEN. Now I got my dashed lines looking correct in the layout space. Just not sure exactly what I did... ha.

Thanks again for y'alls help!
