Just upgraded to a car I care about, 2010 Altima SL. I need suggestions on a wax to use on it (I used Tech Wax 2.0 on my last vehicle) and need to know what is the best wheel cleaner? For the wax, I will be applying with an orbital and removing by hand. For the wheel cleaner, well, if it actually works I want it. If I have to scrub the brake dust after application then I'll stick with my wash mit....... Sorry, not interested in the uber-expensive wax products (Zymol, SP?). Just need a good wax that will make car washes easier and will protect the paint.... Any Arfcom advice? |
| I used to work at a Turtle Wax carwash, before they went belly up, but you can still by their name brand wax. It is the easiest to use out of the waxes I've encountered. Don't get the turtle wax ICE shit though, its super toxic and we had to wear heavy duty rubber gloves when using it and will irritate the hell out of your skin |

Zaino.
I have no reason to shit you. I hate to wax/polish my car. This shit is easy on/easy off. Lasts forever, is really inexpensive. $30-40 you are there with enough product to apply 15-20 times. I've got a black car, I live in Hell. Zaino makes it bearable.
Good luck. |

Quoted: It really all comes down to paint prep, if you wash clay light polish right the tech wax will give you 90% of the protection while costing 10-20 dollars less. In the world of synthetic sealants especially All-In-Ones they are almost all the same in terms of gloss and protection after prep.Quoted: Nothing comes close in price/performance to the tech wax 2.0, just keep using it. Thanks. Was hoping to hear that............ |

I use:
Meguiar's 105 and 205 for buffing and polishing then finish with Blackfire Crystal seal and use a good Carnuba wax after if you desire. I like Poorboys RED Carnuba. I also use Chemical guys citrus shine to wash the vehicle before hitting it with the other products. The citrus wash removes build-up of other waxes and sealants and allows you to start with fresh, clean clear coat. For the interior you will only and ALWAYS only need one product and I can promise you this. Go to a website called Werkstat and order the Satin-Prot for leather. You can use it on your dash, door panels, plastic trim etc etc It really is the best shit you can buy. Period. Hands down. It is pretty inexpensive as well. |

Of course, 2 weeks later i moved a mile down a gravel road. money well spent.

I'm in the middle of doing a full workup on my '03 Pickup and then my '11 Camaro SS is next. |

F Tech wax is fine (better than fine IMHO). But the wax isn't so important as the prep. If you like Meguiars, I strongly suggest. Wash Clay bar Paint Cleaner <scratchX and/or swirlX if needed on problem areas> Paint Polish Techwax. |

Good luck. I will second Zaino. I tried to "resist" for a long time because every one of my car buddies was so adamant about it, but finally I gave in and it produced a gloss no other wax I'd used did (included Meguier's Tech 2.0, though I do use that for my "daily drivers" in a pinch). The "Leather in a Bottle" product is amazing as well if you have leather interior. I drank the Kool-Aid, and it was good. |
