So I'm looking to paint my Trooper some time this summer.

Problem is the local auto parts placed no longer sell automotive paints by the gallon anymore.  NAPA here(long time closed) used to mix it right on the spot for you.

Doing some google searching only brings up custom high end paints when what I'm really looking for is a simple non-metalic coyote brownish in a satin or semi gloss acrylic enamel.

Any ideas on where to look?

I painted an old Chevy pick-up a few years ago with polyurethane equipment enamel that I bought at Duron. I think it was made by Sherwin Williams. It was tough paint like you would use on a tractor or a piece of construction equipment. It was very easy to work with and held up well.

Automotive paint has gotten crazy expensive. A neighbor does body work in his garage part time and he told me yesterday that a quart of red 2 stage for a late model Mustang cost him over $200.

My local Oreilly Auto parts store mixes and sells auto paint. I have bought multiple gallons there over the years.

Have you tried "English Color"?  They sell supplies to a lot of the body shops and to the public.  They have store fronts around DFW.
