I have a 99 f250 and love it except for the motor the trition motors suck. I have figured the least I can do is put a throttle body spacer on it but was wondering if it was worth it. And what style, does it matter much what style spacer I buy?(Helix, stract, etc) Any other cheap mod for this motor?  That truck is my daily driver so I want to increase the mpg and right now I am looking into buying a project truck for off road use. I found an 84 4x4 f250(love my 250s) for $450 with one main problem the clutch or that is what he thinks. He said it was the clutch or he said somthing about hydrulics, and the only thing I thought it could be involving hydrulics was the master cylinder or slave cylinders does this sound right? And finally I intend on building the motor, and suggestions for a 351W?

Easy way to see if its the hydraulics is to climb under the truck and find the clutch fork. Have someone push the clutch in and see how far it moves. If it don't move at all, thats most likely the problem. Other than that, I'm no Ford boy.

start off cheap with a K&N high flow intake or maybe a cold air kit.  Then if law permits open up the exhaust a little more with a catback or complete exhaust with larger diameter and less restriction.

The slave or master could be leaking if there isnt pressure or the line itself may have ruptured.

It is my opinion that those "throttle body spacers" are a con job YMMV(heh)

Getting a new computer tuned to what you are looking for in performance/MPG could be a ticket ($100 - $400)

Go all K&N Air, replace the spark plugs with Good Ones.
