Regarding OBD-II automotive scan tools, which ones are good?
Are the SUPER expensive Snap-On hand-helds really necessary, or are there much cheaper thing out there that do just as much? How long will OBD-II be around..is anything else on the horizon? Thanks. |

I've been thinking about this Bluetooth unit and using the Torque software.
Heard it's pretty good, would like other opines myself. BAFX |

Quoted: I think OBD-II is already gone. CANBus is the new standard. The CAN bus and the rest of the vehicle network to include dozens of computers and many different interconnecting networks is accessed through the OBDII port. To the OP snapon makes the best all around reach out and touch anything scan tool. It sometimes falls short with a few makes but will have he greatest coverage of the most vehicles. Typically the price point shows that.
