PATCH 1.30 Official change list

New Features

- Air dropped vehicles:
Squad members can now send a request up the chain of command for a vehicle to be dropped at their location.
- Co-op:
Co-op Mode allows you to play Single Player levels on the Internet and LAN with both AI controlled bots and human players. Several new options have been created that will allow the server creator to modify how the bots behave in game.

Number of Bots: This setting allows you to determine the total number of bots that will spawn in game.

Bot Ratio: This setting allows you to determine the percentage of total bots that will spawn for each team. For Example, setting this value to 25 means that 25% of the total bots will spawn in Team 1, and 75% in Team 2. Team 1 is always the MEC, Chinese, or their allies, While Team 2 is always the USA, EU, and their allies.

Bot Difficulty: This setting determines the skill level of the bots. 10 is easyest, 100 is the most difficult.

- Default Kit Selection:
The kit that you used last is remembered at the beginning of the round and between maps.

Bug Fixes and Gameplay Tweaks

- Fixed issues with remote console and Linux server
- Prevented ban list from being cleared in the event of a server crash.
- Fixed the bug where helicopters abandoned in the air would continue flying.
- Fixed issue with player not properly ranking up on servers where they continuously play.
- If the player joins a squad while dead, the player will not be able to use the squad leader as a spawn point until they have respawned once.- Flag Capture bar now reacts accurately to players entering the capture radius.
- Fixed bug where friendly vehicles showed as valid targets
- Friendly Vehicle Lock: Lock-on weapons do not lock on to friendly vehicles.
The box with an X trough it will still appear, but a lock tone will not sound and then if fired, the missile will not track the friendly target.
- Fixed bug that altered mini map functionality
- Adjusted missile count on BF2SF helicopters.
- Fixed bug with Special Forces rank names.
- Fixed repairing HUD for the engineer when in a vehicle
- Added custom messages for server so that the private messages may be sent directly to a player. Messages may be sent from the server using the following command in the console.
host.sgl_sendTextMessage( playerid, channelid, typeid, text, flags )
Here is an example: host.sgl_sendTextMessage( 0,14,1, "Message Goes Here", 0 )
- Adjusted award criteria
- Added deterrent system against alternative ranking
- Fixed Linux server crash: A ranked server that can no longer connect to the GameSpy backend will become an unranked server.
- Fixed a tech hang when creating a single player account from an offline account
- Fixed crash when switching from BF2 to BF2:SF (or vice versa)

Could be interesting.

- Default Kit Selection:
The kit that you used last is remembered at the beginning of the round and between maps.

Good! I usually end up spending the first life of each round as assault because I forgot to change it.

- Fixed the bug where helicopters abandoned in the air would continue flying.
Now the gunner's going to have to be really quick on the keyboard if the pilot gets a .50 to the head.

- Added deterrent system against alternative ranking
That's a bunch of bullsh*t, we cant have normally-ranked mods, but they put in stuff to combat an alternative system?

About Damn Time!!! Whats it taken them? Almost a whole year to fix those issues?

"- Adjusted missile count on BF2SF helicopters."

So I guess I wasn't the only one to notice that the SF helicopters still had 14 missles.

"- Air dropped vehicles:

Now that sounds interesting... Now all we need is a dumbass commander accidentally putting them on roofs and in the water.

It's cool they are putting a Co-Op Mode in, but still we need more modes of play.

I find it funny that Ghost Recon is going to be out on the PC pretty soon, and now they are doing these fixes.

I already love dropping supply crates on snipers.  Keeps me from wasting valuable arty.  This means I get to piss off twice as many snipers.

Well gee, that's funny.  Their major complaint with this patch is one of the things I like most about this patch.  Jumping in and out of the squad to change the leader because one of your crew FINALLY got up to the roof of the Factory on Karkand is plain BS.  I'm glad this'll be going the way of the dodo.

I'm against that particular part of the patch. I'm all for SL's changing in order to let SM spawn on them. It is part of the game.

I see it as part of the game that was unintended and is a detriment to gameplay.  Like skiing in Tribes.  Yes, that's right...I thought skiing in Tribes was teh ghey even though I got pretty good at base raping with heavys.

reason I like the squad hopping is it makes the battles more epic when a flag is being contested.

A group of 6 people rushing a flag feels more like a group of 18-20 people rushing the flag if they keep squad hopping as the wave comes in.    Really makes the battle intense while they try to get in and take a flag away and forces the defenders to be on top of their game.

I'll be pissed if this fucks up my ability to do the F35 taxi from the carrier to the air strip on Wake with the squad forming behind me as soon as I touch ground.

I wonder if you spawn and do a quick suicide, then spawn on the SL. It's going to take longer, but may be a work around to the blocked squad hoping.

Problem is you will KILL your score so you aren't gonna see people doing it that often.   Too many are not willing to do what it takes to win the battle if it means killing your score.

It won't stop people from spawning on you if you are the SL to begin with. But say you die while some of your SM are there... you won't be able to leave the squad to make another SM the SL and then spawn on them. You'd have to wait for them to die and come back.
