Ok, I don't really mean that. But holy shit, what's up with all the question marks? I see statement after statement, concluded with a question mark. Don't ask me for your opinion! Do you have no confidence in what you say? This has nothing to do with being a grammar Nazi, and everything to do with untucking that tail between your legs and having a shred of conviction. If you have a question, don't be afraid to ask. But if you want to tell us something, SAY IT! Don't be afraid that someone might disagree. Don't feel insulted if someone does, in fact, disagree. That's the point of discussion. But every now and then I see someone who has an opinion? <<<JUST LIKE THAT DON'T FUCKING DO IT!! You know, government funded health care is wrong? <<<GET SOME BALLS YOU COMMUNIST COCKSUCKER! TELL ME IT'S WRONG, DON'T ASK! If I disagree (which I don't), I'll tell you. Our disagreement shouldn't hurt your perty wittle feewings, Bawney. "I always wonders how the Germans know the particular gender of a word?" <<<If you don't understand, tell us you don't understand. If you want to ask how, just ask! "Basically they are women who want to be gay men?" <<WTF? Are you asking a question, or making a statement? It's like you kinda know the truth, but you really don't have a clue. So make it clear, and maybe you can either educate the rest of us or you can get educated. "Also the people bitching about safety then bragging about thier fucking motorcycle?" Again, have the confidence to make a statement or have the sack to admit you don't know, and ask the god damn question. I'll admit, I notice this less on Arfcom than other forums. It still bugs the hell out of me. Please, make a statement, or ask a question. Have a little confidence, or STFU. None of that in-between bullshit! |

Imagine watching a presidential debate, and your candidate ends every statement with the inflection (is that the right word?) of a question. LOOOOOO-ZERRRRR. Or, for the women, imagine being hit on by a guy who thinks "you're kind of hot? <waits for confirmation>" |

People talk like that all the fucking time, seems to be mostly women. There was this hag on NPR ... did "Fresh Air" or some damn fluff, that (Teri Gross?) that ended every sentence so it sounded like a question.
I could deal with the liberal slant of NPR but that broad made me want to commit atrocities against my radio. Hello? This is Fresh Air? With Teri Gross? We have some weirdo author? On today? To talk about his stupid book? Welcome? |
