Just a quick question, what magazine carrier have you had good experience with. I'm looking for a mag carrier that can hold six 30 rnd. 5.56 magazines. Not a chest rig or Molle attachment thing. Something I can strap on.... ... over my shoulder or around my waist, independent of other gear.
Thanks.

Do they carry sombreros too? The kind with the puffy balls around the entire brim?

You should take a look at Galati Gear, they got some over the shoulder pouches that might be your fancy.

Maybe you don't know what a bandolier is. When you open up a crate of issued military 5.56 they all come in cloth bandoliers with little boxes of 3 stripper clips with 10 rounds each on them. However these aren't going to fit 30 rnd mags.

You come in here using the term "banana clip" then you get shitty when someone gives you a legit suggestion. I'd suggest reading more and posting less.

But now Im thinking, not sure if OP is retarded or trolling.

Well, I've seen Masterbagger's replies in other posts. He's not that serious in his replies. So, I was kidding around too.

Well, I'm not looking for a backpack-type item that can have mag carriers attached to the exterior.

That's similar to something I was looking at, a Condor chest rig.
Maybe a vest with MOLLE attachments is the way to go.

Surplus AK mag pouch w/shoulder strap, 4 or 5 cell w/closed-cell foam at the bottom to compensate for the shorter AR mag. Inexpensive and effective.

I checked out the grey ghost website and saw the 5.56 mag bandolier.
I've never seen that before, and the other bandoliers I've ever seen were for shotgun shells, rifle cartridges, and Chewbacca's laser crossbow

How about one of these -->  http://www.midwayusa.com/product/939189814/midwayusa-4-magazine-pouch-ar-15-and-ak-47-rifle

I have a couple of them and they seem to fit your description.  You can't carry anything in addition to the mags, but they lay flat and are quick to put on if you need to.

I didn't think it was too bad, as long as it wasn't worn for long periods of time. After a couple of days, those clips do tend to dig into your ass.
