This is kind of woodworking, but also metal. I need a vertical bandsaw, variable speed to take care of metal and wood, different blades of course, but the materials definitely like different speeds. I found one on Grizzy’s website, but it requires a 220 line. I have 6 of those, but they’re all taken up with lathes, mills, welding equipment, etc so I don’t have one to spare and don’t have one near where I want to put the saw. The Grizzly is model number G0621X, and it seems to me that with such a low horsepower motor that it could just as easily be a 110 motor. So does anyone know of a metal/wood bandsaw that runs off of 110? Or barring that, I suppose that I could always buy the saw as it is and change out the motor to one that likes 110, but the way that it’s mounted it makes me wonder if anyone has ever done this before, just to keep me from re-inventing the wheel so to speak. Anything constructive is definitely appreciated. |

Why are you limiting yourself? With the exception of my air compressor all my 240v tools are connected using twist-lock plugs so the number of available 240v lines is pretty irrelevant since I can only use one tool at a time. |
