I got an alert from them earlier this month that a website I had used my debit card at had a hacker steal card numbers from. Called them, and they said my current card will be canceled 5/13, but I should receive a new one before then. Well, went to gas up the car this AM, and yep, the card was denied, so I used a credit card. Call BoA, and they say they have no record of a new card being ordered. Why the fuck would they cancel an existing card, and not order up a replacement? I am sure I will get my next statement, and see a replacement card charge on it too, knowing these nickel and dime asswipes. ![]() <Title edit. I canceled a BoA Visa card once and 9 months later had a bill show up with charges on it. I called them asking what was going on and they said the number had been used to order something, so they sent the bill to me. When asked about the status of the card and how I'd canceled it, they pulled up the records and sure enough, it's canceled. I asked how a card which was canceled could have valid charges put on it, and her response was "well, it shouldn't have done that." Yeah, no kidding. They pulled the charges off the bill, assured me it wouldn't happen again (how could it have happened the first time???), and I never heard from them again. Why they didn't spot that as a fraudulent charge on a supposedly dead card is beyond me.... |
