Heys guys, this is my first trip into the brewing forum. I'm new at this but I intend to stay if I'm any good at it.

I just got done brewing my first ever batch (an orange ale from a kit the S/O got me) and I have a quick question...

The kit recommends to allow to sit for two weeks after bottling then refrigerate but I'll be out of town at that time. So... is it better to allow for two extra weeks in the bottle at room temp or refrigerated?

Thanks...

Room temp. A few extra weeks in room temp will not hurt.

Either way will be fine.  I'd put a few bottles in the fridge so you can enjoy one when you get home.

Room temp. If you pop em in the fridge too soon they won't carb up as well or at all.

Room temp won't hurt them one bit. I'd suggest putting a couple in the fridge before you leave, but leave most of them at room temp. You don't need them in the fridge for more than a few days before you can drink them. I only keep 8 or 10 bottles in the fridge at a time and just replenish as I drink them. No reason to keep 48 bottles in the fridge.
