I know I've seen several documentaries that cover Army basic training (even though most programs you seen now are about USMC boot camp). Like that multi-part series that aired on the History Channel way back when Mail Call first started. Oddly, I can't find anything like this for sale anywhere now. Does anybody know where one can obtain shows, documentaries, or what have you about Army BCT? Thanks |

Look up the website for the military channel or discovery, they offer DVD copies of their documentaries, I think $19.95 or 29.95. The titles you are looking for are "Earning the Title" and "Making Marines: Parris Island" (3 part series) www.discoverychannel.com www.militarychannel.com I think those are the urls, that's why I didnt post them as links! Thanks, I'll look and see if they have anything Army-themed (since I'm going into the Army). FWIW, I already recorded the Making Marines series off of the Military Channel, and thought it was very good. |

there is one i saw about army BCT where they follow three or four individuals at leonard wood. i think it was on discovery. theres also another one about the armor school in fort knox, i watched it way back before i had any idea i was going to get into the army as a tanker, and thought to myself, "man, it must suck to be a tanker..."  dont get too far wrapped up in trying to find out what it is like, as basic is different for everyone. every cycle is different, every drill sergeant is different, every platoon/company is different. nobody has the exact same experience. before i left i had dozens of people telling me this and that, do this, dont do that, the best thing is to just go and find out for yourself. |
