I can't find anything!! What is up with the one piece suits with the sides cut out?? Stupid!! I think I'll be swimming in the nude this year |
|
I just bought one yesterday. It's a tankini, very flattering. I got it at a discount clothing store here for 24.99. It's a nice quality, too. A nice soft brown with a deep v crossover neckline and a skirted bottom. I wasn't sure how the skirt would look. I like the look of them in the magazines, but wasn't sure about me. I tried it on, and it looks great. Not old lady at all, very cute and chic. It's not a bikini, but hey. I already have some, wanted something different, and bit more covered for the boat and pool. |
Yea the last one I got was from VS and I have only had it two years but the top is no longer flattering, i.e. does not fit. My Aunt always orders from Venus. I never have. I just want something simple that fits and give support up top and looks half way decent ya know. |
I lik the Takinis and I have tried a few different ones on and the tops just don't fit right. I don't know if the skirts would look good on me, I have my doubts but haven't tried em yet. I am so discouraged. |
| I ordered one from Land's End, no lie, almost 15 years ago. It's still in good shape. I'm thinking I should replace it, just because I realized its kind of weird to have the same bathing suit for 15 years, but it fits well because you buy the top and bottom seperately, and I sure can't complain about the quality. |
I've thought of getting a bathing suit from VS quite a few times, I'm just nervous about buying them without trying them on.... It's hard!! |
That's basically what I'm looking for an none of the ones I have seen and trid on have the shelf bra. I don't want boy shorts but a lot fo the suits you can mix and match. |
VS is pretty good on sizes. When I ordered I had to exchange the bottoms for a smaller size and they were very quick about it. Bottom line is they have nice stuff and it lasts. |
Take a look at the Lands End website too. I haven't ordered from them yet, but my sister has and she was ver pleased with the tankini she got. I've been looking at the Newport News swimsuits too.... |
While I'd never dissuade a woman from swimming in the nude, I bought my girlfriend a one piece with sides cut out. It looks extremely hot on her. |
+1 I have sent back VS clothes several times with no problem. Im the first one to bitch about quality and VS seems to be the best for swim suits. ETA: J Crew has good quality also |
|
+10 for Lands End. I love their clothes, and the bathing suits especially. They have tankinis with the shelf, cups, and underwires. and you can mix and match the tops and bottems. I like the Faille fabric. It's a ribbed fabric that's very slimming. I have a tankini in that, and I think I'll get a matching swim mini bottom. Very cute. |
That's quotable, dammit! OP: I am wearing last season's suits. I can't BEAR trying anything on right now! I'm not happy with my winter weight gain brought on by my inability to weight train (shoulder injury) so...this fall, I'll be fully healed and back to my avatar-like arms. Until then...jiggly. |
|
We leave in a month for a week of scuba diving. Have not tried the tankinis...not sure what to look at this year. I am short and top heavy; 47 years old but still want to feel sexy (lol, I gave up on looking sexy many years ago!). |
Daisy, WTF happened to your account? *runs off to the team forum to start a thread about her where she can't see* |
SHE may not be able to see it...but I will. And I've got her back. And of the two of us...I'm the meaner one. ![]() Type at your own peril, boy.
|
*yawn* I'm DEFINITELY not scared of you. Bring it, sweetheart |
Probably have better luck saying if they don't post their pics, you WILL post yours |
I'm flexible. I guess guys do have it much easier as far as picking a suit is concerned... trunks, or if your gay (or French), a speedo. But seriously if you eat like crap and don't exercise all year should you really expect to look hot in a swimsuit? |
Who said anything about eating like crap and not exercising all year? Not me. I was simply complaining about the styles this year. |
|
This is going to sound crazy, but I found the cutest swimsuit I've ever owned at Wal Mart of all places this last week. It's strapless, but has cute rouging in all the right places and this cute little skirt thing. One good place to look is Ross. They're in full swing as far as swimsuits go.. .and have designer one and two pieces for cheap. |
I like the little skirt thing. They're not like the skirts on the suits that our mom's used to wear. I wouldn't be caught dead in a one piece with a skirt, but somehow the 2 piece skirted ones are very cute. Course the top on mine is a bit, revealing. Well, more so than I usually wear. PM told me I had to tuck the puppies in the other day! lol. |
Once again, living up to the sig line that you had until just recently.... Bless those puppies. |
boo, no models in those swimsuits... |
