I'm looking for a new folder knife. I had a Kershaw cheapy knife that I abused the shit out of but I really liked the spring assist blade. It seems Benchmade is all the rage now so I was looking into their products. Do they offer a knife that is assisted open comparable to Kershaw knives? Some of the gold class knives looked really nice. I dont want to spend over $400 on a knife that is used and abused as a tool. Any suggestions? I'd prefer to have an auto opening knife but I guess its illegal? I fail to see that logic but oh well.
Thanks for the tips! |

Quoted: Autos aren't illegal in many states now. Benchmade makes several assisted opening knives. On Benchmade's website there is a knife wizard that will let you search by the features you want. |

That's encouraging, I'll have to check my states laws (TX) autos are legal in texas, provided they don't qualify as an illegal knife |

Read Well, thanks to Doug Ritter and his organization Knife Rights - Tenneesee passed State preemption. Meaning everyone follows state law. No more city laws that are more restrictive that the state law. I'm not sure if Texas did too. ETA: Here's an update about Texas' laws. http://www.kniferights.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=221 Sorry, no preemption yet for Texas. |
