I have a couple since I got a bazillion mags and accessories. Would never roll in the sand with one, then you have a hammer. *Not counting actual Soldiers who used the trigger guard as the hammering part. 😵 |

That’s really a good deal, and with my membership it comes out to an even better deal of $453 (after the rebate) and zero tax and free shipping. I don’t mean this to be smart, but what does one do with a basic Beretta 92fs in this day and age? It’s big, heavy, has no rail for a light, no optic cut, no night sights and no way to add them. After shooting it once I don’t know what use I’d have for it. |

The Elite II had just come out and there were a lot of the gen 1 out there. My partner had an Elite II and there wasn't a lot of difference in the two besides the finish. Dad carried his 92FS Police for 26 of his 38 years in LE and never changed a single spring, not even a recoil spring, and he did some firearms training work. Of course the first time he shot it after retiring the locking block broke, likely from getting beaten to hell from the old recoil spring. He had an armorer replace all the springs and we still shoot that thing.

| FWIW I have purchased from Bereli and they are GTG. I have also submitted using the Beretta rebate and though it took a while to get, it did finally come. That said, the amount on the card is short of the proposed rebate and I could not use the card on Beretta's website to buy more magazines. Not even sure if it will work with another retailer. |

Other people just either buy them because of ‘80s/early ‘90s nostalgia. As for actually using the thing, it’s a relatively accurate and easy to shoot gun, even if it’s a little dated. It’s double stack semi-auto, not a cap and ball revolver. It’s still a usable gun in 2026, whether the mall ninjas think so or not. |

Yeah, before the internet and online sellers, research, etc. we paid much more over dealer cost than we do now. Be it a Seiko diver, a gun, a knife, an scope, etc. I think my G19 in ‘94 was 500 OTD. |

I inherited one of these, took it to a range one time and was getting light primer strikes about 50% of the time I could reload those rounds in the mag and sometimes they would fire the second time around Never figured out why, I put it back in the box and it sits in the back of the safe I have plenty of other 9mm’s to shoot, I’ll dick around with it someday |

We had a stash of 1960s Egyptian military ammo, probably for submachine guns. My 92FS had the stock heavy spring like the M9. Horrible trigger pull but would fire any primer. They got a lot of FTF. Every round of mine fired on the first try. |

VERY possible it could be that. Try again with some Federal or Winchester domestic ammo. ALSO -- some people install what is known as a D-Spring. its a lighter spring to make the DA pull significantly lighter and smoother. if you have a D Spring installed -- that might contribute to the issue also. |

And that one time I went to tap, rack, bang my way out of it, I inadvertently engaged the slide mounted safety. I was on the trigger, but nothing happened….no hammer movement, no bang..  I was like “Aww…FUCK! Stupid me!” And flipped the safety up, to OFF. With a G model, the “safety lever” is spring loaded, and automatically returns to the OFF or FIRE position after the hammer is decocked. 15 to 20 years ago, there were just the Elite models that had that feature and the 92G-SD or 96G-SD versions that were like that. I think Customs and Border Patrol issued the 92G-SD back then. |

I am right handed (strong hand), so the other thing I have done was to switch my mag release buttons to the other side. Instead of trying to flip my grip so my right thumb can hit the MRB, like normal, my right middle finger hits the switch-a-roo’ed MRB. NowYouKnow.jpg |
