| I have my heart set on Krav Maga but not able to take part in training this winter. What would be a complementary discipline that would work well with it maybe fill in the week spots that Krav Maga has? Is Muay Thai a good option I plan to train in Krav Maga but maybe in a year or two. |

I went to a school for 2 years and I did learn quite a few things, but people were constantly getting severely injured, and the instructor was quite rough with students. What good is training in a martial art if you are so damaged from it that you can't defend yourself? There is a lot of churning out instructors in some Krav Maga circles. BJJ, muy thai, boxing, judo, all good options. |

| Who you plan with to train with is some needed info. I'm just now getting into the KM world and it is way more diversified than what I realized as an outsider. The KM school I'm at incorporates tons of standing wrestling, Muay Thai and BJJ. As an example, most of the classes this month have been focused on arm drags into Russian 2 on 1s and things to do from there. |

Not a fan of Krav. Learned some of it briefly. I feel like the instructors were full of hot air. Might seem like they know their shit but they'd be gasping for breath in 2-3 minutes in a light Muay Thai or light BJJ sparring session. Any martial art that does not have full contact sparring & competition should be regarded with extreme suspicion. If your school puts you in gloves/head-gear and allows for active sparring. Say 20-30 minutes at the end of class. Then it might be different. If it doesn't have active sparring. I would not bother. To compliment Krav Maga? Judo or Brazilian Jui Jitsu. |
