It was a warm lazy Sunday here yesterday and I decided to make milkshakes to cool off. I made this up this recipe and I believe to to make the best milkshake ever. If you think you can beat it, post your recipe here. What you will need: 3/4 cup whole milk 1/4 cup Hershey's chocolate syrup 2 cups Breyer's Vanilla Bean ice cream 2 Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies blender large frosty glass straw Put milk, syrup, and cookies in blender and blend at high speed for 5 seconds. Add ice cream and blend on low speed for 2 or 3 seconds. Pour into glass, insert straw, and enjoy. |

You know those canned strawberries in the freezer aisle? Take 1 cup of those, thawed. They'll be dripping with syrup. Throw it in the blender. Put in 4 large scoops of vanilla icecream. Start blending. May take up to 2 minutes to blend. Do not add milk. Should make 20 ounces or adjust ingredients accordingly. Consumption will cause your pants to not fit until you go to the gym... for a week. - BG EDIT: Argh. I work in a coffee shop/ice cream cafe as a part time job. Given the right ingredients, I can make dozens of shakes that A) You cant even get through a straw and B) Good enough to make baby Jesus cry. The irony of it all: I have never had a whole shake (isn't on my diet.) I just sample to make sure that I am still king of the milkshake. I make sure the college girls throw them back up due to the sheer guilt of having such a delicious shake. |
Never tried it with porter, but stouts make some damn fine milkshakes. As do friuty beers like Sam Adams White Ale...it's far to apricot-y for me to really like as a beer, but as a milkshake, it's very tasty. |
MMMMMMMMMMM!!!!.......... .....ok, where's my damn blender now?? |
Try putting a raw egg in with the milk before blending it at high speed. It will keep the milk and ice cream from separating and makes it even more smooth and creamy. |
